Our Story.

Chantal was a competitive figure skater as a child. When she was a teenager she began to sew her own competition dresses and soon others started to notice and request her designs for themselves.

Over the past 25 years she has sewn custom competition apparel for hundreds of figure skaters, dancers, and other athletes. Some of these creations have appeared on national television and touring stage shows across the United States. In this time she has developed an extensive repetoire of skills to produce these costumes through working with rhinestones, applique, detailed and textured laces, chiffons, feathers, and other tricky materials that most sewers find intimidating.

After her daughter began competitive gymnastics 8 years ago she immersed herself in the surrounding culture and community and through trial and error refined the art of the simple cozy leotard.

She began cbcsportswear in 2023 after she realized that many leotard companies seemed disconnected from the gyms that serve as second homes for gymnasts training 20+ hours/week.
